International Media Analytics Consultant

International Media Analytics Consultant

The job

As a more senior member of the consultancy team you will help our select blue-chip clients optimise their media agency ROI and accountability, conducting a range of services from audit and analysis of advertising investment, to pitch management, budget setting and media training workshops in specified countries or geographic areas. This covers both traditional media usage with a strong focus on TV as well as Online and other media communication touchpoints.

 

Tasks

Collect data from client, media agency, media owner and other sources as required.  Build appropriate databases including cleaning and verifying the data and prepare it for analysis using standard database software.  Recommend analytical approaches that will deliver added value insights.

Using proprietary bespoke analytical tools, analyse media cost and quality performance, TV and Digital in particular, to prepare charts, tables and commentary for reports and contribute to team discussions on the findings and recommendations.

Work with other team members on developing interactive models to help clients set budgets both within and across countries and better understand the effects of their media investments.

Research and prepare media landscape and country overviews, including economic and other statistical data, media legislation and trends and agency developments for selected countries.

Analyse and forecast economic, consumer, agency, media and market trends and developments for selected countries around the world.

Monitor developments in the media world including agency rankings, key agency and client/sector news items and ensure intelligent dissemination.

 

Requirements

Degree from a recognised university, ideally in economics, business or marketing.   Proven post-graduate career progression in either a research database business or international media agency network or media auditor, in analytically-focused roles.  Direct exposure to TV and Digital planning and/or buying for non-UK markets would be preferred.

Fluency in a major European language in addition to good spoken and written English, with German, French, Italian or Spanish of particular value.   This language requirement may be waived if there is direct experience of big database management or international media auditing.

Proven strength in numeracy and analytical skills, with total proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel is essential). PowerBI experience would be an advantage.

Knowledge of programming (VBA, SQL or similar would be valuable).

Ability to manage and create reports, focusing on accuracy and clarity, presentation skills with PowerPoint

A willingness to work with high volumes of non-standard data.

Bright intellect, good communication skills and an assured personal approach; flexible in working time; a team player.

A commitment to accuracy and must enjoy being busy and prepared to work the time required to get the job done.

International Media Consultant

The job

Tasks

Leading media audit and efficiency projects from in-depth analysis of media performance, related to media market and competitive activity. While much of the data verification and analysis is handled by our team of analysts, real depth in added value will require hands-on data analysis and a good understanding of our bespoke tools.

Review and discussion of findings, preparation of report recommendations and presentation at round table review meetings, currently via video conferencing calls but with a potential return to client locations, at least in Europe, with country and regional client and agency directors and top management.

Analysis of economic, consumer, agency, media and market trends and developments for selected countries.

Supporting clients in the more effective management of their media budgets in an increasingly competitive and challenging media marketplace.

Ensuring smooth and efficient media working processes between clients and their media agencies and the implementation of media agency performance-related incentive schemes.

 

Requirements

Degree from a recognised university, ideally in economics, business or marketing with proven post-graduate experience in an international media agency network, gained mostly in planning and buying or trading, or in a media auditing firm. Experience should

include TV and Digital, ideally gained working in non-UK media markets. Experience with UK media would be an advantage.

Fluency in a major European language in addition to good spoken and written English, with a preference for German, French, Spanish or Italian

Strength in numeracy and analytical skills.

Total competence in MS Excel including pivot tables, Word and PowerPoint. PowerBI expertise would be helpful.

An assured personal approach and proven ability to communicate with and present to top management level at major multi-national companies.

Ability to work closely with colleagues and on multiple projects with differing time pressures. Good interpersonal skills to ensure a good fit into our diverse and high performing team.

Flexible in working time and free to travel internationally when required.

A passion for media, a bright intellect, interest in other countries and cultures and a desire to contribute to the development of a new approach to media consultancy and auditing.
